Mark is a 22 year old student currently reading for a Bachelor’s of Science Degree with Honours in Podiatry, and is currently in his 4th year of studies.
He has been actively involved within the Malta Health Students’ Association for three consecutive years between 2011- 2013 as KPS Officer, Secretary General and President. During his tenure within the MHSA, Mark saw the organization evolve from a newly established one, up until ranking 5th in the 2013 Room Allocation Report. This was an effort fuelled by a deep desire by himself and his colleagues to improve the holistic representation of all Health Science students.
Mark also formed part of the KSU Health Committee for two years between 2011- 2012 where various health organizations joined forces to work on health and well- being issues. Additionally he was elected as the Student Representative of the Association of Podiatrists of Malta in 2012, and currently holds the position of Student Representative of the Faculty of Health Science. Mark has been playing Basketball ever since the age of eight, and furthermore was awarded with Kokka tas- Sena during the 2013 KSU Kokka Night.
Amongst his plans for the role of Vice President, he intends to continue consolidating and establishing long-term relationships with various entities interested in collaborating with KSU. Furthermore, taking into account a statutory change during the 2014 KSU AGM, Mark shall be taking the responsibility of setting up Fresher’s Week. During which, along with his new colleagues, he intends to ensure that this week is as relevant as possible to all students and student organizations on Campus, while simultaneously improving upon the Fresher’s Weeks of previous years.
During his term Mark expects to come across various exciting and challenging tasks, though he particularly looks forward to contributing to duties pertaining to administrative responsibilities.
Motivated and consistent in his work, Mark intends to use his experience from previous committees to work alongside and together with the new KSU Executive, and to ensure that quality student representation and services continue to be made available for the entire student body.
