Michela Boffa is a 19 year old European Studies and Communications student currently in her second year of studies at the University of Malta.
She has always been actively involved in diverse social aspects. During her two years at the University of Malta Junior College, she participated in the soiree both in 1st year as well as in 2nd year. She has also taken part in two student exchanges, in Sweden and in Germany.
Michela also took part in the Mini European Assembly organised by NSTF (a simulation of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe) representing Estonia. She has also participated in KNZ’s National Youth Parliament.
During last year, which was her first year of studies at the University of Malta, she again, was a participant in the Mini European Assembly, this time representing Iceland, one of the winning teams.
During this current year, which is Michela’s 2nd year of studies, she was the coordinator for the team representing the Netherland in the Mini European Assembly.
Throughout the academic year 2009-2010, Michela was the Secretary General of JEF Malta (Young European Federalists). This organization helped her develop many skills, namely working efficiently within a team. During this year, Michela represented the organization in several international events organised by JEF Europe.
In the previous months, Michela has also been elected as the EDRC (European Documentation and Research Centre) Student Representative.
She is very much interested in social issues and would like to give her contribution to the policy making and implementation of matters which concern students both directly and indirectly. Michela believes that student organisations should work together closely in order to improve the quality of each student’s University experience.
