The UMGS, University of Malta Geographical Society, is a student organization which aims to promote the relevance of geography. We try to do this by organising academic and social events and also by trying to providing academic support to advance geographical research. As a society we aim to develop awareness about the importance of geography and enhance the public’s knowledge about the latest research.

Although the society was dormant for a number of years, it was revived by a group of students in 2008/9 and we are hoping that it can keep gaining in strength so that it can continue to offer support to the students when they need it.

Anyone who is interested in Geography is welcome to join, not only people who are studying it at University. The only thing that’s required is an interest in the subject!
