The Culture and Entertainment Office is made up of two students, namely the Culture and Entertainment Officer and the Culture and Entertainment Coordinator. The aim of this Office is to inject life into the University Campus by encouraging students to contribute fully in the preparation and participation of extracurricular activities and promote culture and sports on a local and national level.
We kick off the year with Campus Fest and Frisk which, unlike previous years they will be amalgamated together in a night of spectacular entertainment at the end of Freshers Week. The purpose of such events is to promote Maltese talent amongst the university crowd and at the same time welcoming the new students on Campus starting off the year on a positive note. The Culture and Entertainment Office will once again work hand in hand with other organisations in holding inter-faculty leagues. This year we shall be expanding the tournament to a wider range of sports so that student participation increases. Our aim is to interpose the academic competition on the field and install enthusiasm amongst students. The University of Malta will once again be part of the International University Tournament 2010 which is going to be held from the 17th to the 21nd of November in Milan, Italy. The EUROMILANO 2010 is a tournament of football, basketball, volleyball, tennis and also cheerleading; a week full of sports, fun, party and friendship. Following the success of the past years, we have decided to include the Singer- Songwriter’s competition in our calendar and once again expose new talents. This year, we hope to maintain the standard and improve upon it. Exposure for the winner will be given through other events organized by KSU including gigs with some of Malta’s popular artists amongst other great prizes. Students’ Festival is one of the more prominent activities in the Culture and Entertainment Office year. Bringing together students from all over University, KSU organizes a two day festival during the second semester. This Festival incorporates dance pieces, musical renditions and theatrical showcases completely performed by students. |
